Morning Deals: Southwest Fare Sale

Morning Deals: Southwest Fare Sale

NEW YORK – Southwest Airlines is celebrating its 40th birthday the only way it knows how, with a sale. Flights up to 450 miles in select markets are just $40, flights between 451 and 1,250 miles are $80 and flights more than 1,251 miles are $120. The fares don’t apply to all markets (for instance, there are no flights to or from New York included in the deal), so check out the website to see the full list of fares. Flights must be booked by 11:59 p.m. PDT, and it’s for flights between Aug. 23 and Nov. 16. You can’t travel on Fridays and Sundays and blackout dates are Sept. 1, 5 and 6 and Oct. 10. As usual, there are additional taxes and fees that may apply.

DisneyStore.com is taking an additional 30% off select clearance toys with the coupon code TOY30. The discount is on top of markdowns already taken as part of the clearance sale. So this set of die-cast Disney cars, originally priced at $49.50 and marked down to $29.99, comes down to $20.99 when the code is applied. The code expires at 11:59 p.m. PDT Thursday, and shipping starts at $2.95. .
Finally, Amazon’s Gold Box Deal of the Day gives the Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Bundle for $299.99. That’s the same price you’ll pay everywhere else, but Amazon sweetens the pot by throwing in a $100 Amazon credit. The bundle comes with the Xbox 360 4GB console (the base model, which has limited storage and doesn’t support some multiplayer games unless you buy additional hard drive space), the motion sensing Kinect peripheral and a Kinect game, Kinect Adventures. The Amazon credit can’t be used on Kindle books, music downloads or video rentals. The deal expires around midnight PDT tonight.
